The UK Government’s Hydrogen Strategy was published in August 2021 and forecasts Hydrogen will deliver between 20% and 35% of the total UK energy demand by 2050.
To get business prepared ahead of the curve we're delivering a programme of webinars to raise the profile of Hydrogen, and provide a collaborative platform to discuss the sector specific strategies being implemented to accelerate the transition from carbon-based energy to Hydrogen derived energy.
We will explore the opportunities and challenges that Hydrogen poses, and address the skills development and training needs in key sectors that will enable businesses to deliver their Hydrogen transition strategies.

MOD Strategy for Hydrogen
The MoD will outline their strategy for de-carbonization of their energy infrastructure and the role hydrogen will play in this strategy. The webinar will be led to Fl Lieutenant Richard Griffith from Strategic Command, supported by Babcock and explore opportunities for hydrogen in Devonport and the Falklands.

The University of Exeter, led by Dr Mi Tian, will explore the R&D opportunities currently being developed for Hydrogen Storage. The region has excellent R&D capability in its universities and this webinar will show case some of this capability.

Rhianydd Griffith the project led for the Severn Net LIDP will present their report and explore the opportunities that the LIDP offers. Severn Net has one of the largest industrial carbon footprints in the UK and the potential to create significant added GDP value over the next decade.

HyHAUL is a Government fund project to demonstrate the operational capability of hydrogen power heavy goods vehicles along the M4 corridor. Kyle Arnold MD of HyHAUL and James Bligh National Sales Manager Vehicles from Novuna will present an update on the current project status and outline the future objectives for the HyHAUL project.

Hydrogen decarbonisation rail sector

Keith Brich is the TCO for 7CO2 and will present the vision for the Company.
7CO2 is a carbon capture hub at Avonmouth Dock which will link by pipeline and rail to regional large emitters of CO2, allowing them to introduce carbon capture at their facilities for onward shipping from Avonmouth to long term geological storage.
