The UK Government has committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions to ‘Net Zero’ by 2050. This is a huge challenge which will require unprecedented activity and integration of UK research and innovation into all sectors of society.

The GW4 Accelerating to Net Zero transformational programme is a direct response to this challenge. It is bringing together GW4 researchers, industry partners, communities and government to better understand the challenges and priorities faced by different sectors in our region – and identify opportunities to collaborate on sustainable and socially inclusive solutions. Our region is unique in our engagement with the aviation sector, which provides an opportunity to harness expertise across the disciplines to shape a sustainable aviation sector.

The event will host keynotes from across the sector who will highlight their challenges, funding opportunities, policy interests and areas of priority as they work towards decarbonising aviation.  To facilitate collaborations, there will be themed workshops, partnered networking, Q & A sessions as well as break-out groups and refreshment breaks.  Please join for free by registering using the link, places are limited, and registration will close on Wednesday 5th June.
