UK-hyRES Research Challenges Showcase

UK-Hydrogen Research Challenges (UK-HyRES) is planning an in person event to be held at the Radcliffe Conference Centre in Warwick on 15th September, 2022.

The aim of this event is to provide an exciting line-up of speakers and sessions devoted to a review of UK-HyRES activities since conception in April and a look forward to the new centre scheduled for 2023.

There will be a range of fantastic speakers and opportunities for engagement.

Opening Address: Dr Kedar Pandya UKRI Director of Cross-Council Programmes

Kedar is Director for Cross Council Programmes, with responsibility for cross council themes including AI, Digital Economy, Manufacturing, Energy and Decarbonisation, Quantum Technologies and Healthcare Technologies. He works with senior colleagues across UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) councils, government departments and UKRI Centre to identify exciting new cross council opportunities and to deliver collective priorities, for example in the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund and Strategic Priorities Fund

Closing Address: Prof. Paul Monks BEIS Chief Scientific Advisor

Professor Paul Monks is Chief Scientific Adviser of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). He delivers independent and impartial scientific advice to ministers and policymakers across the BEIS portfolio. He also advises on current and ongoing issues faced by UK businesses and industry, such as the critical role of science in supporting sustainable, resilient, and measurable net zero and the challenges of delivering national and global decarbonisation.
